The Best of Both Worlds: My Sound Bath Facial Experience

Self-care looks different for all of us. For me, it includes both daily practices and a few treatments I make time for each month. My monthly self-care routine usually includes acupuncture, a magnesium float and a massage. Although I love sound baths, I rarely seem to find the time to attend one purely for myself. Every now and again, I also treat myself to a facial.

Recently, I had the opportunity to combine the two.

I was very grateful when Nikolett from Naturally Best Beauty invited me to experience her new **Sound Bath Facial** and to be part of the photoshoot for this beautiful service. It really was the best of both worlds: a nurturing facial combined with the deeply relaxing experience of sound.

Arriving with a busy mind

I will admit that I arrived feeling quite tense. I was preparing to launch my newly renovated website, and my mind was full of everything that still needed to be done.

The moment I settled onto the treatment bed and Nikolett played the Tibetan singing bowl, I could feel myself begin to relax. My thoughts gradually became quieter, and I started to let go of some of the tension I had been carrying.

As I became more present, I could fully appreciate each part of the facial: the cleansing, the touch of Nikolett's hands and the sensation of the small brushes moving gently across my skin. Instead of my mind racing ahead to the next task, I could enjoy the treatment with awareness and pleasure.

A facial massage unlike anything I had experienced

The facial massage using weighted tuning forks was something completely new to me. After Nikolett had treated one side of my face, I could genuinely feel a difference between the two sides. The side she had worked on felt more relaxed, yet somehow stronger and more supported at the same time.

When she had finished both sides, my immediate response was simply, “That was amazing.”

Nikolett then told me that after working on the first side, she could also see a noticeable difference compared with the untreated side. We had both observed the release of tension in different ways: I could feel it, while she could see it.

Rest while the facial worked its magic

While the face mask was nourishing my skin, I was able to settle into the sound bath itself. I thoroughly enjoyed the different layers of sound created by seedpod and other chimes, a crystal pyramid and tuning forks.

There was nothing I needed to do and nowhere else I needed to be. I could simply lie still, listen and receive.

By the time the treatment finished, I felt deeply relaxed and rejuvenated—and my skin was glowing too.

Nikolett's new studio is a beautiful, peaceful space, and the whole experience felt thoughtful and nurturing from beginning to end. If you enjoy facials, sound healing or simply need some time to pause and be cared for, I would highly recommend experiencing the Sound Bath Facial at Naturally Best Beauty for yourself.

Sometimes self-care is not about adding another task to our list. It is about allowing ourselves to stop, receive and enjoy the moment.
